The WOW list #3 - What we loved in November

This is one of the busiest times of the year for creatives so dig deep and don’t be busy, be productive! We are sending positive, strength vibes your way. ?

We hope our November discoveries will offer a little respite and keep you motivated to hang in there!

Our favourite watch

The Power Of Vulnerability ~ Brené Brown studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. At this time of year, you can be too busy (sorry too productive) to take care of yourself. Take a 20-minute break and watch this. It may give you the boost and perspective you need.

Our favourite podcast

The High Low ~ is a weekly news, pop-culture and current affairs podcast, created and hosted by journalists Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes. We love their book, tv, podcast & article recommendations and their insightful, witty chat on serious and quirky news stories. It’s an easy and entertaining way of digesting what’s happening in the world.

Our favourite book

Conscious Creativity ~ Philippa Stanton
Connect your observations and your emotions and transform your creative practice with this essential toolbox packed full of exercises, tips, stunning images and personal experiences from artist and super successful Instagrammer Philippa Stanton. “There is creativity in all of us, but it can easily be buried beneath our everyday concerns, or need a spark to bring it back to life.”

Our favourite community

Sol Design Collective ~ provide business development support, training courses, and mentoring services which aid the growth and improve the sustainability of creative businesses. They hold regular Monday Meet Ups in Brighton. We’ve been along and they are relaxed, friendly and a lovely way to meet fellow creatives.

Our favourite app

Google Calendar ~ At this time of year, there are so many things going on that a wall calendar just doesn’t cut it. You need something on your phone that you can add an appointment or Christmas drinks to while you’re out. A calendar that family members can add to and colleagues can view. This will help you avoid those inevitable double bookings. An essential life app!
